Will my readers need to download special software to view a YUDU digital edition?
No... digital editions are streamed to the reader in much the same way as web pages are viewed. Macromedia Flash is required, although this is already installed in 95% of computers. If you do not already have Macromedia Flash, it is available to download for free. YUDU Digital Editions are designed to be universally available. Corporate networks frequently block users downloading specialist software and YUDU avoids this problem.
Are there any limits to the size of the Free No Obligation Preview Edition I can have / create?
No, we'll will / you can produce your entire publication, regardless of size, so you can see the quality and benefits of a YUDU Publishing digital edition.
Is there a limit to how long I can keep my Free Preview Edition/s?
The preview edition will be available to you for a whole week to allow you to discuss your digital edition internally, show any external advertisers and make a decision on whether you would like it to go live.
Can I change/ amend my digital edition once it goes live?
Yes, we will simply charge per page for each page that we amend. No full re-print charges, no paper waste, no fuss.
Why do you host my digital editions?
YUDU Media host your publications to ensure maximum security with our global server network, the Limelight Content Delivery Network. We also leverage Limelight's global network of backbone servers to ensure that your content is not exposed to a single point of failure, meaning 100% up-time, support and security for your digital editions 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The statistics-reporting package will not operate outside our system. Gathering data for the statistics package requires feedback to our servers from wherever the digital edition is read in the world.
We cannot guarantee security, page delivery speeds and up-time if our digital editions are not hosted by ourselves. There's also a risk of crashing smaller servers if your publication receives a large volume of traffic. In addition, the software is upgraded from time to time. This is a seamless operation on our servers but potentially problematic if hosting is outside YUDU Media's control.
How do I access the statistics of my digital edition?
Once your publication goes live, The YUDU Media production team will send you a link to the stats package, with your unique login and password details. You'll then be able to access your digital edition stats over the Internet, anywhere and at any time. A personal dashboard feature allows you choose your most commonly used statistics for immediate display.
Can digital editions be included in ABC and BPA circulation figures?
Yes, since December 2006, digital editions have been included in ABC circulation figures. Click here for more information. Can I have more than one self-publishing account/ use more than one publishing product?
Yes - however, you will need to apply for a YUDU Publishing PRO account and we will supply you with new login details. Anyone can create freedom publications and there is no need to sign up for an account. Click here.
Can I receive training for the self-publishing application?
The Self-publishing application has been designed to be as intuitive and easy to use as possible. The application also includes help files with a general production overview, specific help for each stage of the process and also a troubleshooting section. You can also view the help videos on this site. On top of all this, we also have a LIVE CHAT help system, available 12 hours a day, 5 days a week, to help you along the way. If you feel that you still require more training, contact us and we will be happy to help you out. But we really don't think you'll need it - just try it and see how easy it is!
